Purpose:

Provides implementation services, analysis and technical support for network security infrastructure. Responsible for Network Security and Directory Services technologies.
Responsible for implementing and supporting the internet/intranet/extranet security infrastructure. Will also be responsible for Intrusion Detection analysis, remote access administration, load balancer and internet access points.
Provide level 3 technical support and analysis for complex internet/intranet/extranet security infrastructure problems.
Management and administration of hardware (Windows & UNIX) platforms supporting device and application management consoles and authentication services. Participation in technical review committee's that diagnose and assess security changes to the enterprise security infrastructure.
Provide implementation services and technical support for the Directory Services infrastructure; including Microsoft Active Directory, Internet Authentication Services (IAS), Certificate Authority and Microsoft Identity Information Server (MIIS).
Self-directed coordination of implementation projects, tasks, device documentation and cross training of coworkers. Identify and resolve complex network security problems using analytical problem solving methods/techniques and security management tools/devices.
Complete understanding and wide application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines. Works under consultative direction or independently.
Solutions are innovative, thorough, and consistent with organizational objectives. Exercises latitude in approach to problems and solutions. Provides status reporting and management updates as necessary on projects or problem situations. Provides technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems.
Contributes and leads to the completion of difficult technical implementations and tasks. Directs technical work of less-experienced staff. Works independently within large projects and directs the activities of team members within span of control.

Bachelor’s Degree, or technical institute degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
4 - 7 years of IT experience. 3 - 5 years or equivalent network security experience.
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing and bridging protocols including OSPF and BGP.
Strong practical knowledge of firewalls, VPN and Intrusion Detection systems.
Possess a thorough understanding of Active Directory as it relates to personnel IDs, DHCP, WINS & DNS services, software knowledge of MOM, Bindview, and ADMT.
Candidate must be Windows 2000 or 2003 certified.
Must have strong capabilities to test Microsoft hotfixes and service packs against the Active Directory and other directory services.
