The Security Engineer is responsible for all security-related aspects of the Firm's technology infrastructure and incoming and outgoing data. Additionally, this position is tasked with designing, implementing and maintaining the firm's network infrastructure and operating system security strategies and solutions.

Responsibilities:
Maintain current knowledgebase of current security trends.
Research, analyze, identify, the most current security threats and recommend how to protect against those threats.
Monitor alerts and respond to threats identified by Firms MSSP.
Remediate security vulnerabilities discovered by the Firms vulnerability scanner.
Ensure that protection and protocols are in place to secure all technical platforms, facilities, and portals of entry to Firm systems. Monitor and defend against Cybersecurity threats.
Assist in Monitoring and Maintaining the Firms Comprehensive Endpoint Detection and Response system.
Assist in Monitoring and Maintaining the Firms DLP system.
Assist in Monitoring and Maintaining the Firms Firewall and Security Appliances.
Ensure that protection and protocols are in place to secure all technical platforms, facilities, and portals of entry to Firm systems. Monitor and defend against hacking, cyber-attacks, phishing, virus, and malware threats.
Work with the incident response team, including steps to minimize the impact and then conducting a technical and forensic investigation into how the breach happened and the extent of the damage.
Assist in the evaluation and selection of technologies which directly affect systems security, network access, malware/threat protection, asset management, data backup/restore, records archive/retention, and information management.
Ensure adherence to enterprise level security standards when evaluating, selecting, implementing, and/or modifying IT infrastructure and applications.
Ensure that exposures or breaches are remediated in a timely manner. Assist the Director of Security and Network Services in communicating the scope and effect of such incidents, as well as the Firm's response.
Adhere to ethical and confidentiality screening requirements related to electronic repositories of information.
Develop and carry out information security plans and policies.
Develop strategies to respond to and recover from a security breach.
In collaboration with the Director of Security and Network Services, assist in the creation of information security policies and procedures; and with the support and authority of the General Counsel, enforce all security policies.

Qualifications:
Associates degree required or equivalent work experience
College experience in Computer Science preferred
1-3 years of industry experience in an information security function
Expertise in anti-virus software, intrusion detection, firewalls and content filtering
Expertise in designing secure networks, systems and application architecture
Understanding of network connectivity, security and accessibility required
3-5 years of direct experience with MS server operating systems, (Server 2008 or newer) required
3-5 years of direct experience with routers/switches required
System administration, supporting multiple platforms and applications
Expertise with mobile code, malicious code, and anti-virus software
Ability to effectively prioritize multiple group and individual tasks
Excellent organizational skills
